Valleigh
Miller & Smith constructed the 79 “gingerbread” Victorian style townhomes of Valleigh in 1984 and 1985. This community is tucked away in a park-like setting, but is close to everything the Alexandria area has to offer. Homes are situated off of Valley View Drive along Cool Valley Court, Little Valley Way, Old Valley Court, Stone Valley Court and Wild Valley Court. The Tiffany model has 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths and 1,224 square feet. There are 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths in the 1,468 square foot Gables model. The largest floor plan is the Victoria model with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths and between 1,620 and 1,692 square feet. Many homes have bump-out bay windows and lattice work; end-units have covered porches.
Living in Valleigh
A couple of park benches have been put up for residents to enjoy. Children attend the nearby Franconia Elementary, Twain Intermediate and Edison High Schools.
Valleigh is in a great location between Kingstowne and Springfield. Interstates 495/395/95 and the Fairfax County Parkway are just a few traffic lights away, as is Metro. Those looking to ride the VRE can catch a train at the Springfield Transportation Center. Metro and Fairfax Connector bus service is readily available throughout the area. Springfield Town Center is very close and features many restaurants and shops. Another popular spot is the Kingstowne Town Center-it boasts a 16-screen movie theater, several shops and restaurants, a Starbucks, dry cleaners and 2 grocery stores. Choices consist of Panera Bread, Firehouse Subs, Moby Dick House of Kabob, Bonefish Grill, Pasara, Macaroni Grill and more. Golf enthusiasts will love to check out Greendale Golf Course. The great mix of entertainment, restaurant and shopping endeavors of Washington D.C., Arlington and Tysons Corner are only a short distance away from here.
