Orange Hunt Square

Orange Hunt Square is a fabulous community of 130 brick townhomes nestled along tree-lined streets in Springfield. Located just off the Fairfax County Parkway, this subdivision is situated perfectly for commuters and is near tons of recreational and shopping opportunities. It is in the sought-after West Springfield High School district, with students attending Sangster Elementary (practically just next door!) and Irving Middle Schools as well. Built between 1978 and 1980, these units are all brick and feature square footage of 2,475 to 2,904. Many homes back to trees and feel very private.

The Arlington, Belmont and Charlestown models are found here, with 3 and 4 bedroom floor plans available. An informative website is maintained by the homeowners association; it includes community announcements, discussion boards and other items of interest to residents. The Tallyho newsletter is also published periodically and sent out to community members. There are also 2 great tot-lots and green common spaces for all to enjoy.

South Run RECenter is located directly across the Fairfax County Parkway from Orange Hunt Square. This Fairfax County facility has recently undergone a complete overhaul to include a 2-story fitness center with cardio and weight training equipment, a state of the art entertainment system with individual screens and video simulators on many machines and a Pilates and yoga studio with Allegro Reformer equipment. Other highlights are the 25 x 25 meter swimming pool, a 24,000 square foot field house with new synthetic turf fields, an off-leash dog area and numerous athletic fields. Flexible membership options include daily, monthly and yearly passes. Paved trails connect this facility with Burke Lake Park and Lake Mercer. There is a 218-acre lake with fishing and boating opportunities, an 18-hole par 3 golf course, a miniature golf course, outdoor volleyball courts, an ice cream parlor and much more at Burke Lake Park. The Kingstowne Town Center, with its shops, restaurants and 16-screen Regal Cinema is only about 15 minutes away.

Transportation options are plentiful in this section of Springfield. There is a Metro bus stop at the entrance to the community; the 18R route provides service to the Gambrill Road Park & Ride lot and the Franconia-Springfield Metro station (blue line trains). From the Metro, you can catch a bus or a train for travel throughout the area, including to the Pentagon and downtown D.C. Alternatively, the 18H bus line provides express service to the Pentagon. If you are driving, it is about 15-20 minutes to the Metro and Interstates 95/395/495.
