Need an escape from Black Friday shopping?

The Lorton Workhouse Arts Center is planning a day of special events on Friday November 26th from 9 am to 7 pm. There will be tea tastings, live music, great art exhibits and opportunities to purchase unique holiday gifts for everyone on your list. More than 125 artists will have pieces available for purchase in every price range.

From 5 to 7 pm, The Potomac Jazz Project will perform in Gallery W-16. They have played at some of the area’s top music venues—The Smithsonian, Twins Jazz, The Kennedy Center and are regulars at Laporta’s, Extra Virgin and Sala Thai. According to their website, they “are a modern jazz quartet that delights audiences with fresh arrangements of jazz from all eras—from the swingin’ rhythms and catchy melodies of Duke Ellington through the hot and cool jazz of the 50s of Charlie Parker and Miles Davis, up to the funkiness of Horace Silver and Herbie Hancock”.

Come on out and enjoy some good food, great music and stunning artwork at the Arts Center!
