Well, a chill is in the air for sure, but here are some ideas to get you out and about this holiday season!

Bull Run Festival of Lights, Through Jan 7

Experience this 2.5 mile holiday light display from the comfort of your own car. Afterwards, you can check out the holiday village with rides and refreshments.

Zoo Lights, National Zoo, Through Jan 1

See the National Zoo lit up at night by 500,000 LED lights! There is also a light show set to music, live musical performances, a Glow Zone for kids, a holiday market and mobile art gallery.

Christmas at Mount Vernon, Through Jan 6, Mount Vernon Mansion

Take a candlelight character-guided tour, watch a chocolate-making demonstration or see Aladdin the Christmas Camel.

Christmas on the Potomac, through Jan 1, National Harbor

Whether its seeing “Ice”or JOY (holiday spectacular atrium show), decorating a gingerbread house or riding the Christmas carousel, there is something for everyone at the Gaylord.

Nutcracker Performances, various venues

Always a classic, there are many places to see “The Nutcracker”, whether it be at the Kennedy Center, the National Ballet or a community theater.

Pop-up Christmas Bar: Miracle on Seventh Street, Through Dec 31, Shaw

This is the third annual holiday PUB (pop-up bar) from Drink Company. Experience plenty of Christmas cheer in several themed rooms offering specialty drinks and snacks. Holiday attire encouraged!

Chanukah Family Spectacular; Bethesda Row, December 17

Experience Chanukah in the Chocolate Factory and create your own chocolate candy, listen to music and meet Judah HaMaccabee.
