Episode 12 | 3 Kingstowne area lunch faves

Okay, you’re hungry, it’s lunchtime, and you’re in the Kingstowne area of Alexandria, Virginia. Where do you eat? Today we give you three great choices for lunch if you are in the Kingstowne area of western Alexandria. Our area is full of fun choices. Let us know what your favorites are.

Day One: Pica Taco

Everybody, so our first stop is Pica Taco in the Landsdowne Shopping Center. One thing I love about Pica is that they have corn tortillas which taste super fresh and authentic. Come on in, we’ll show you inside. So I ordered the ground beef tacos, which I got on corn tortillas, they come with a little bit of lettuce, cheese, and some radishes.

Day Two: Grounded Coffee Shop

Today we are at Grounded Coffee Shop. You may not have heard of this one, it’s tucked away in a shopping center close to Telegraph Road and South Kings Highway. By the name of it, you might think, “Oh, it’s great for a cappuccino and a pastry.” But did you know that they also serve lunch, and have all kinds of sandwiches?

Both of the owners are professional pastry chefs with great resumes. And so, we’re lucky to have them in our area and you can count on it. The croissants are much better than you’re gonna get in any local chain coffee shop. The offerings for lunch are outstanding, they always have some specials, and they also have live music on Sundays. So this really is a unique place and one that you’ll have to check out if you’re in the area.

So we are gonna start off with the soup of the day, which is the Hungarian Mushroom. And we’re also gonna have the barbecue chicken sandwich to go with it.

Day Three: The Pub by Wegmans

Sometimes when we’re hungry, we like to go to the pub for lunch. Not that pub, this pub. The Pub at Wegmans.

Of course Wegmans Pub is in the Wegmans grocery store. But you know, once you’re inside, you feel like you’re in a really nice restaurant. Come on inside.

Wegmans has a great menu, full of all kinds of sandwiches, soups, salads, and more. The service is very quick and friendly.

Alright, so today I (Tom) got the french dip, which looks awesome and I wanna dip in, and Susan got this Grade A salad, which looks awesome too. So we’re ready to go and we know it’s gonna be tasty.

Thanks so much Wegmans. Everything tasted even better than it looked.

So folks, there you have it. There are three of our top Kingstowne area spots for lunch. Now what we wanna know is, what are your favorite places? Let us know in the comments below.
