Check Out Pearmund Cellars in VA Wine Country!

Are you looking for a fun and exciting place to spend an afternoon? Why not check out Virginia Wine Country? Located in Broad Run, near Warrenton, Pearmund Cellars is an easy trip from Northern Virginia. From our house in Lorton, it only took about an hour to get there last weekend. It was an absolute perfect day—nothing but blue sky and not a cloud in the sky! We got a tour of the winery from the winemaker Seth; it included seeing the vines, crush pad, bottling room and of course the super cool Italian-tiled barrel room. Through a special package through Excitations, we were able to taste several wines straight from the barrels! We tried a Viognier, 2 Chardonnays, a Malbec, a Cabernet Franc, a Petit Verdot and a dessert wine. Each had its own distinctive taste. I think the Malbec was our favorite—a light red wine with tons of flavor. It was just us and another couple so we got to ask lots of questions which Seth happily answered. Afterward, we enjoyed a fabulous platter of cheese, crackers, sausage, hummus and chocolate out on the lovely patio. We even got to meet the owner, Chris Pearmund and his wife, who were the perfect hosts. Pearmund Cellars is a great date place and is also perfect for spending the day with family and friends. For those of you new in town this is just one example of the many things you can do around here. If you are up for an adventure, you should definitely check this out!
