The 100-acre Joseph Plaskett Park surrounds the Lorton Station community and includes a wooded hiking/biking trail and a fair-weather crossing through the Pohick River. Mason Neck is a state park on a peninsula near Pohick Bay that features an abundance of birds such as heron, bald eagles, tundra swans and ducks. There are 4 miles of unpaved hiking trails and 3 miles of paved multi-use trails with 10 bikes available for rent.
