Van Dorn Village is a 295 unit townhome community located approximately 10 miles southwest of Washington, D.C. Situated off of South Van Dorn Street, it has a pivotal central location near all major thoroughfares and attractions of Alexandria. This neighborhood consists of well constructed 3-level townhomes with 2 or 3 bedrooms. They were built between 1986 and 1988. There are a few garage units on Crocus Court, but most units have assigned parking spaces. Total square footage ranges from 1,680 to 2,874. Golf enthusiasts will want to check out Greendale Golf Course and the Hilltop Golf Club. Many parks and green spaces are located near this community. Springfield Mall is the closest mall to Van Dorn Village; construction will soon begin to transform it into the Springfield Town Center. The current mall will be remodeled to include new merchants, a state of the art cinema and top-tier restaurants; office, residential and hotel spaces will surround it. Another popular spot is the Kingstowne Town Center. It features a 16-screen movie theater, 2 grocery stores, and numerous shops and restaurants. Favorites include World Market, Home Goods, Panera Bread, Firehouse Subs, Kaleidoscoops Ice Cream Shop, Bonefish Grill, Pasara and Uno’s Chicago Bar & Grill.
