Woodfield Estates

Welcome to Woodfield Estates, a great community of 57 brick-front townhomes nestled between the Wellington Commons and Willow Creek subdivisions on South Van Dorn Street in Alexandria. These units were built in 1984-1985, with 2 and 3 bedroom floor plans available. The total square footage of these homes ranges from 2,100 to 2,580. Thoreau, Chaucer, Wordsworth and Woodfield models are available. A unique feature of this community is that many homes boast a 4th level loft, which greatly expands the amount of living space. Homes are available with and without 1 car garages. There is a great children’s play area found in the back of the community. It features a swing set, slide and climbing equipment along with a picnic table and a park bench. This community is situated between 2 Metro stations (Van Dorn and Franconia-Springfield) and is just a few traffic lights away from the Beltway, Interstates 95 and 395 and the Fairfax County Parkway.

Living in Woodfield Estates

The Franconia-Springfield station also offers access to VRE trains, Greyhound buses and plenty of parking. Regular Fairfax Connector and Metro bus service occurs throughout the area. Tyson’s Corner and downtown D.C are about 15 to 20 minutes away and it is just a short hop over the Woodrow Wilson Bridge to commute into Maryland. Fort Belvoir and the Pentagon are convenient, as are Bolling Air Force Base, Fort Myer, 2 Coast Guard stations, the Navy Yard, Andrews Air Force Base and the Hoffman Buildings. Woodfield Estates is perfect place for military and civilian personnel working at any one of these bases.

There is a wide assortment of leisure activities, shopping and dining opportunities around Woodfield Estates. Area golf courses include Greendale Golf Course conveniently located on Telegraph Road. Traveling just a bit past Greendale Golf Course, you will find Franconia District Park and RECenter. The indoor facility features a 50-meter swimming pool, exercise room with cardio and weight machines, spin, aerobics and dance studios and sports courts. A 193-acre park surrounds the RECenter and it includes tot-lots, athletic fields, walking trails, horseshoe pits and an antique carousel. The Kingstowne Town Center is a great resource for area residents. There is a 16-screen movie theater, 2 grocery stores, a variety of service providers, several shops and restaurants. Choices include World Market, Panera Bread, Firehouse Subs and Bonefish Grill. It has a farmer’s market throughout the summer and fall months. Tyson’s Corner and Tyson’s Galleria are the area’s premier shopping destinations; each features department stores, specialty shops, upscale boutiques and fabulous restaurants. Nearby Old Town Alexandria boasts a unique mix of shopping and dining choices along with historic attractions, art galleries and plenty of green space along the Potomac River.
