Summers Grove

If you want to live within walking distance to the Metro, then Summers Grove is the place for you! Located directly across the street from the Van Dorn Metro and just inside the Beltway, this community is in a prime location. Downtown D.C. and Tyson’s Corner are just a short car ride away. There are 191 townhomes with 1 or 2 car garages on Cowling Court, Harrison Circle, Pearson Lane and Summers Grove Road. Total square footage ranges from 1,643 to 2,720. 3 builders took part in the construction of Summers Grove between 1997 and 1999—NV Homes, Ryan Homes and Courtland Homes. The 20-foot wide Vanderbilt models were built by NV Homes; they include rear-loading 2 car garages, optional lofts/4th bedrooms and prime lots near the pool and clubhouse. Ryan Homes’ Scarborough model is an 18-foot wide townhome that also includes rear-loading 2 car garages and optional lofts/4th bedrooms.

Living in Summers Grove

Courtland Homes produced the Ashton, Chancellor and Beauford models, which are 16-foot wide townhomes with rear-loading 1 car garages; 3 and 4 level homes are available. Residents of this neighborhood enjoy stellar amenities. The homeowner’s association fee includes lawn maintenance, trash, snow and recycling pick-up, an outdoor swimming pool, an elegant clubhouse that can be rented out, a multipurpose court and playgrounds. Ample common/green spaces with benches are scattered throughout Summers Grove. An informative website is maintained by the association. It gives pertinent information about community rules and events along with any other items of importance to residents. Students attend Alexandria City Schools—Samuel W. Tucker Elementary, Francis C. Hammond Middle and Alexandria City High Schools.

Alexandria City offers a multitude of fun entertainment spots, recreational activities and close proximity to area employers. The Hoffman Town Center is a lively mixed-use center with a 22-screen AMC Movie Theater, office spaces and an eclectic mix of restaurants such as Ted’s Montana Grill, Delia’s, Galae Thai, Cold Stone Creamery, San Antonio Bar & Grill and Starbucks. Old Town Alexandria offers something for everyone. There are historic sites, art galleries, upscale boutiques, antique stores, top-notch restaurants and plenty of green spaces along the Potomac River for all to enjoy. Del Ray, “where Main Street still exists” boasts outdoor eateries, music venues, tons of specialty stores and many health & wellness experts such as massage, Pilates, yoga and exercise facilities. Sportrock, the area’s premier indoor rock climbing facility is located on Eisenhower Avenue. Also on Eisenhower is Cameron Run Regional Park, which boasts a Great Waves Waterpark, multiple batting cages, a miniature golf course, covered picnic areas and an event pavilion. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. Federal District Courthouse in Alexandria, the Hoffman Buildings, the Pentagon and Fort Belvoir are all conveniently situated close to Summers Grove.
