Runnymeade

The fantastic Runnymeade subdivision is situated just outside the Beltway in Alexandria, Virginia. There are 346 3-level townhomes nestled amongst mature trees and landscaping. Units are available with and without garages; homes typically have 2 or 3 bedrooms. These homes were built between 1984 and 1987 along Ambassador Way, Castletown Way, Crown Royal Circle, Heatherwood Court/Drive, High Meadow Road, Knights Ridge Way and Langton Drive. Total square footage ranges from 2,080 to 3,000. Available models include the Marlburough, Elgin, Berwick, Darnley, Alford and Falkirk. The active homeowners association maintains a community website which contains a wealth of information important to residents.

Living in Runnymeade

Message boards are password protected. All members of the community enjoy the use of tennis courts and various tot-lots scattered about the neighborhood. All residents have a chance to get involved, whether it be by serving on a committee or joining a club. Current clubs include the Lunch Bunch and the Supper Club; both groups get out and check out new restaurants. Examples of committees include Grounds, Parking and Architectural Control.

Runnymeade is very close to all major transportation routes, including the Fairfax County Parkway and Interstates 495/95/395. It is located in between 2 Metro stations-Van Dorn and Franconia-Springfield. VRE services are located at the Springfield and Alexandria stations. Fairfax Connector and Metro buses are readily available throughout the area. Those commuting to local military bases should have no trouble getting to work every day. Fort Belvoir, U.S. Coast Guard Stations, Fort Myer, the Pentagon and Bolling Air Force Base are all convenient. Students attend Bush Hill Elementary, Twain Middle and Edison High Schools. The Kingstowne Town Center is a great resource for area residents. There is a 16-screen movie theater, 2 grocery stores, Starbucks, World Market, Bath & Body Works and a variety of interesting restaurants. Dining choices include Bonefish Grill, Panera Bread, Firehouse Subs, Macaroni Grill, and Moby Dick House of Kabob. Franconia District Park and RECenter offer plenty of ways for you to maintain an active lifestyle. The 193 acre park has walking trails, athletic fields, picnic areas and playgrounds. An indoor swimming pool, exercise room, gymnasium, dance/aerobics studios and sports courts can be found at the RECenter.
