Raceway Farms

Raceway Farms is a fabulous well established community of single family homes nestled along tree-lined streets with sidewalks in popular Lorton. It is very close to the Kingstowne area of Alexandria, all major transportation routes and the Lorton Town Center. These 205 colonial and split-foyer style homes were constructed over a wide period of time between 1978 and 1996. There are a variety of floor plans available, including the Bayport, Chelsea, Farmington, Rosemont, Chandler, Southbridge and Hampton models. Total square footage ranges from 2,688 to 4,550 in these 3, 4 or 5 bedroom homes. Most homes have either a 1 or 2 car garage and many back to trees. Lot sizes range from .16 to .64.

Living in Raceway Farms

The active homeowners association maintains a website with a wealth of information for residents including a member directory, classified ads, discussion groups and resources beneficial to community members. The majority of the site is password protected, providing for a secure online experience for users. A Facebook group page has been established for Raceway Farms residents who would like to connect that way. There is a great neighborhood playground with swings, climbing equipment and a slide for all to enjoy. Nearby Levelle W. Dupell Park features basketball and tennis courts, a baseball field, a playground and a large sheltered picnic area.

Easy access to transportation, employment and entertainment are fantastic reasons to consider Raceway Farms as a neighborhood you’d like to live in. There are several major roads within just a few minutes of this community, such as the Fairfax County Parkway, Interstates 395 and 95, the Beltway and Route 1. The Springfield Metro and the Lorton and Springfield VRE stations are convenient as well. Raceway Farms is handily nestled in between the Telegraph and Tulley Gates of Fort Belvoir, making this an ideal location for anyone stationed there. The new campus of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and the Coast Guard station on Telegraph Road are super close too. Other local employers include companies at the Metro Park complex, the Pentagon and the federal government. Costco is right around the corner when you need to stock up the pantry. The Kingstowne and Lorton Station Town Centers offer a wide breadth of resources for community members. There are 2 grocery stores, a 16-screen Regal Cinema and many shops and restaurants at Kingstowne. Merchants include World Market, Home Goods, Bath & Body Works, Panera Bread, Firehouse Subs, Bonefish Grill, Pasara and King Street Blues. A variety of service providers and restaurants can be found in Lorton. They consist of the Lorton Station Medical Center, Curves, KC Pharmacy, Fireside Grill, Pane e Vino, Daily Grind, Vocelli Pizza and more. Children attend Island Creek Elementary and Hayfield Secondary Schools.
