Mature, tree-lined streets provide peace and tranquility after a long day’s work. Ideally located just off the Fairfax County Parkway, Newington Forest is a commuter’s dream. Connector bus stops are located throughout the neighborhood and offer easy access to the Franconia-Springfield Metro. HOV lanes can be accessed off the Parkway and let you travel to the Pentagon and Washington DC going northbound, and Quantico to the south. All other major commuter routes, Fort Belvoir and the newly constructed NGA campus are very convenient as well.

Newly renovated, the South Run Rec Center offers many interesting ways to keep in shape. Outdoor features include athletic fields, a 24,000 square foot field house with synthetic turf field and trails leading to Burke Lake Park. Inside there is a remodeled state-of-the-art two-story fitness center, Pilates and spin studios and new strength training equipment. Additional recreational spaces nearby include Lake Accotink Park, Pohick Bay Golf Course and Lake Mercer. The Lorton Workhouse Arts Center is super place to let your creativity soar! They offer classes in everything from stained glass, ceramics, drawing and theatre to yoga, dance and Pilates. Other great options include art exhibits, plays, shows and more!
