Lake d’ Evereux

Ideally located in the Kingstowne area of Alexandria, Lake d’Evereux is a great place to call home. There are 290 single family homes and townhouses built between 1981 and 1986. Many of the townhomes back to either the 6.5 acre lake or to Huntley Meadows Wildlife Preserve. Square footages ranges between 2,200 to 2,500 for townhomes and 2,600 to 3,500 for detached homes. The lake truly is the centerpiece of this community; with its new pavered walking path, benches, and 3 fountains there is something for everyone to enjoy. It is not uncommon to see residents strolling around the lake or taking their dogs on a walk.

Other amenities available are the tennis courts and children’s playgrounds. The Lake d’Evereux Community Association is a very active one; it maintains both a website and the Lakeside Letter newsletter that is mailed out to residents. Members find it easy to get involved by serving on a committee or joining various clubs such as the walking, bridge, book and coffee groups. Recent neighborhood events have consisted of a Fishing Derby, Family Fun Nights and picnics/BBQs. Kids attend Hayfield Elementary and Secondary Schools.

Recreational activities, major transportation routes and regional employment centers are just a short distance away. Franconia District Park and RECenter includes an indoor swimming pool, exercise equipment, athletic fields and picnic areas. Shopping and dining options abound in the Kingstowne Town Center. Favorites include World Market, Home Goods, Macaroni Grill, Panera Bread and Firehouse Subs. There is a 16-screen movie theater, 2 grocery stores and a dry cleaners there as well. This community is just minutes away from major commuter routes such as the Fairfax County Parkway and Interstates 495,395 and 95. The Springfield Transportation Center offers access to Metro (blue line trains), VRE, and Greyhound. Local bus service is readily available. Lake d’Evereux is convenient to Fort Belvoir, the Pentagon, the Hoffman Buildings, U.S. Coast Guard Station, the Metro Park office complex, Tyson’s Corner and downtown D.C.
