Georgetown Woods

Georgetown Woods is a community is 154 townhomes located off of Beulah Street in the Kingstowne area of Alexandria. Homes located on Gildar Street were built from 1968 to1972 while the units on Darleon were added in 1988. All residents enjoy the use of the community basketball courts and playground. Gildar Street townhomes have either 2 or 3 levels, with square footage ranging from 1,240 to 2,280. Many of the homes on Darleon Place have garages, with square footage between 2,376 and 2,400. Students attend Franconia Elementary, Twain Intermediate and Edison High Schools. This neighborhood is in a great location for commuters with easy access to transportation and employment centers.

Living in Georgetown Woods

Interstates 495/395/95 and the Fairfax County Parkway are just a couple of minutes away, as is the Springfield Transportation Center. The transportation center offers access to Metro, VRE, Amtrak and Greyhound. Metro and Fairfax Connector buses are readily available in the area. Fort Belvoir, the Pentagon, the U.S, Coast Guard Station on Telegraph Road, Fort Myer and Bolling Air Force Base are all easily reached from here. The Metro Park complex includes a variety of companies such as Calibre, SAIC, the Tauri Group and the INOVA Healthplex. Local fire, police and emergency services are located within a half mile of this development.

Several shopping centers are situated very close to Georgetown Woods. The Kingstowne Town Center features a 16-screen movie theater, 2 grocery stores, dry cleaners and Starbucks along with many other shops and restaurants. Franconia District Park and Rec Center offers tons of recreational opportunities -there is a RECenter with an indoor swimming pool, exercise facilities, sports courts and dance/aerobics studios; it is surrounded by a 193 acre park with athletic fields, trails and picnic areas.
