Daventry

Daventry is a vibrant residential community of single family homes, townhouses and garden style condos in the West Springfield area. An assortment of amenities, an active community association and a stellar location make this community a great one to call home. The 512 colonial townhomes feature 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms; most back to woods and have garages. Available floor plans are the Auburn, Bedford, Dover, Eton, Fairmont and Justin. Its 212 single family homes have between 3 and 5 bedrooms and are surrounded by mature trees. Model names are the Amesbury, Hampton, Promontory, Chesapeake, Potomac and York. The Avon, Burke and Carlisle models can be found throughout Ramblewood at Daventry; there are 160 units.

Living in Daventry

Residents enjoy the exclusive use of all Daventry amenities. There is a large outdoor swimming pool (home to the award winning Dolphins swim team), 2 lighted tennis courts, a multipurpose court and a community center. The elegantly appointed great room can be rented out for private and community events. Walking/jogging paths throughout the community meet up with an extensive collection of paths owned by Fairfax County. 4 tot lots outfitted with swing sets, climbing equipment and slides are available as well. Daventry has a number of clubs that meet regularly. Examples include book, bridge, Bunco, garden, running and tennis clubs. Reading the bi-monthly community newsletter and checking out the community website are great ways to stay on top of neighborhood events.

The community offers easy access to area transportation choices. For those looking to drive, Daventry is just 2 miles from the intersection of I-495/395/95 and is only minutes away from the Fairfax County Parkway. There is an official carpool staging area for the Daventry-Pentagon Slug line at the entrance to the community that is within walking distance to many residents. Bus service is also readily available, including an express bus to the Pentagon. The Springfield Transportation Center is very convenient for commuters; located only a few minutes away, it offers access to Metro Rail’s blue line, VRE’s Fredericksburg line, Greyhound buses, Amtrak trains and plenty of parking.

This section of Springfield is serviced by West Springfield Elementary, Washington Irving Middle and West Springfield High Schools. Daventry parental support is strong in all 3 schools, whether it is by attending school functions or occupying leadership positions in the PTA.

Recreation, shopping and entertainment choices are plentiful. South Run Rec Center, featuring an indoor pool, state of the art fitness center, sports courts, athletic fields, and more is approximately 4 miles away. Daventry is bordered on one side by the Cross-County Trail that connects to Accotink Creek via new paved path under Old Keene Mill Road. Hidden Pond Nature Center and the Springfield Country Club, with its 18-hole golf course, outdoor pool and tennis courts are close by. Various shopping centers such as Springfield Plaza and Old Keene Mill Center are in the area and offer grocery stores, shops, restaurants and services to the Springfield community.
