Cavanaugh Crossing

Welcome to Cavanaugh Crossing, an upscale community of 50 Coscan Washington built single family homes off of Ox Road in Lorton, VA. Coscan is now operating as Brookfield Homes. These luxurious “Charleston” and “Georgian” style homes were built on .21 to .68 acre lots, with square footage running between 4,434 and 6,239. Many homes feature wide, sweeping verandas, porches and unique architectural details. Models built include the Taylor, Van Buren, Randolph, Stuart and Wallace. The Taylor model won the 2001 Annual Builder Award of Excellence. All units were built during 2001 and 2002. Students attend William Halley Elementary and South County Secondary Schools.

Living in Cavanaugh Crossing

This neighborhood is ideally located near many of Lorton’s main attractions. The Lorton VRE station is located approximately 10 minutes away and features service out to Union Station, with stops in Alexandria, Crystal City and L’Enfant Plaza along the way. You can easily connect to MetroRail at several stops, including Franconia-Springfield. The VRE station is situated right at the Lorton Station Town Center, which features a variety of restaurants, retail and service providers as well as a medical facility. For golf enthusiasts, Laurel Hill Golf Club is sure to please. This par 71, 18-hole course ranks number 12 on Golfweek’s list of the Virginia's best public access courses; in addition to the course, it includes a 30 station practice range and a 9,400 square foot clubhouse with an expanded pro shop, changing areas and meeting/dining rooms. The Lorton Workhouse Arts Center was a great addition to this section of Lorton; according to the their website, their mission is to “enrich the lives of all within reach by creating a vibrant cultural community that fosters a diverse offering of arts, education, social and entertainment experiences”. The Center sponsors several concert series, theater camps, art exhibits and offers classes in a variety of subjects such as ceramics, glass, yoga, Pilates and martial arts.

South Run RECenter is the closest recreational facility to Cavanaugh Crossing. The indoor center features a 25 x 25 meter swimming pool, an expanded 2-story fitness center with a Pilates studio, state of the art entertainment system with individual screens or simulators on many pieces of cardio equipment, additional free weights, spin bikes and a broad range of class offerings. Several athletic fields, an indoor synthetic turf field house and a playground can be found on 182 acres surrounding the RECenter. Paved trails connect to Burke Lake Park. It has a lake with boating and fishing capabilities, rowboat rentals, volleyball courts, 18-hole par 3 golf course, walking trails, miniature golf course and more. Cavanaugh Crossing is also close to I-95, the Fairfax County Parkway, Fort Belvoir and Quantico Marine Base.
