Inlet Cove is ideally located just one mile south of Fort Belvoir’s Tulley Gate, between Telegraph Road and the Fairfax County Parkway. Built between 2002 and 2004 by NVR and Courtland Homes, this community features 256 spacious single-family homes and townhouses. Of the detached homes, the Jamison and Paxton models were constructed by NVR while Courtland Homes produced the Garland, Yardley and Arbor models. The square footage of these homes runs between 3,218 and 4,870. NVR’s Astor and Randolph townhome models are available as well, with square footage between 2,436 and 3,676. The walking trails scattered around the neighborhood provide easy access to the landscaped common areas and the numerous amenities. Residents can enjoy the outdoor swimming pool, clubhouse, tot lot and sand volleyball court. The clubhouse and pool area can be rented out for parties, meetings or other special events. The homeowners association maintains a terrific website with things to do around the area, recreation information and important contact information. There is an e-mail list residents can join for the latest in the happenings around the neighborhood.  This community is a great choice for anyone who would like minimal yard maintenance. Inlet Cove is adjacent to a 9.5 acre lake and the Pohick Church Historic Overlay District. George Washington and George Mason worshipped at Pohick Church and it is an important landmark in our colonial history.

Due to its location near Fort Belvoir, many neighbors are active duty or retired military or civilians working at a local base. The new Walter Reed hospital, the Commissary and PX and other on base amenities are just a few minutes away. Because of its easy access to Route 1, Interstate 95/395, the Beltway and the Lorton VRE, Inlet Cove is in a super spot for commuting throughout the region. Whether you are headed downtown, to the Pentagon or out to Quantico you are well on your way from here. In addition to the Pohick Church property, other historic attractions include Mount Vernon Estate, Woodlawn Plantation and Gunston Hall. Recreation, shopping and dining opportunities abound in this section of Fairfax County. Pohick Bay Regional Park, run by the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority, is a water-based park with something for everyone. Its boat launch facility is one of only 3 public access points to the Potomac River in the Northern Virginia; canoes, kayaks, paddle boats and jon boats are available for rent. Other fun highlights include a large free form outdoor swimming pool, camping grounds, hiking trails, a children’s play area and a challenging golf course. A full service pro shop, practice facility and a snack bar are available as well. The Lorton Town Center consists of several restaurants and service providers, and just a bit further down the road is the Lorton Marketplace, which also has a nice mixture of restaurant and retail spaces. Always worth a trip, the new Workhouse Arts Center features art exhibitions, performing arts programs, concert series, a wide variety of art and exercise classes and much more.
