FBI Decision Delayed Again

FBI Headquarters

Those of us waiting on the GSA to announce the location for the future FBI headquarters will have to sit tight for a while longer. We were most recently expecting to hear the decision on March 10th of this year.

The GSA has said their milestones to make the decision have been met, but they need budget appropriations to be able to make their announcement and award to the lucky winner.

According to a recent Bisnow article, the GSA’s former public building commissioner Bob Peck thinks that we won’t hear until 2018 at the earliest. There are still placements that need to be filled by the administration (such as GSA administrator and public buildings commissioner), so it is likely that the temporary position holders at GSA would make a decision on the FBI.

We’re still rooting for the Springfield location, because of its great location near Metro, the Springfield Town Center, all major transportation routes and Quantico.

Time will tell whether Springfield or one of the Marland locations will land the FBI.
