Towns at Manchester Woods

The Towns at Manchester Woods is a wonderful collection of 118 Stanley Martin built townhomes in Springfield. These homes were constructed during 2001 and 2002 and are well situated just off the Fairfax County Parkway. Streets in this community include Bloomington Court, Castlefield Way, Deansgate Court, Fountain Spring Court, Gateside Court, Hampton Manor Place, John Ryland Way and Oldham Leeds Way. One and two car garage styles are available, with total square footage ranging from 2,100 to 3,360. Popular models include the York, Sherbourne and Leeds.

Living in Towns at Manchester Woods

Neighbors enjoy use of the community playground and the tennis courts, soccer fields and baseball field of nearby Hooes Road Park. The homeowner’s association maintains a website with loads of important information for residents; it features a secure, members only section, local resources, links to school websites and other articles that could be of interest to community members. Children attend Forestdale Elementary, Key Middle and Lee High Schools.

This community is centrally located near the newly improved Springfield Mixing Bowl, making travel throughout Northern Virginia, Washington D.C. and Maryland a breeze. The Mixing Bowl is the intersection of Interstates 495, 395 and 95. Fort Belvoir, the new National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency campus at the Engineer Proving Ground and the Pentagon are all convenient. Also located off the Fairfax County Parkway, the Springfield Transportation Center provides access to Metro, Amtrak, VRE and Greyhound. There is a Metro bus stop right outside the neighborhood that transports riders over to the Metro; this is the last stop before arriving at the station, so you won’t be on the bus for long! National Airport is just a short distance away for when you are ready to take a vacation. The Metro Park complex is only a few minutes away and features a variety of government contractor and technology companies along with the INOVA Healthplex. Other military bases within a reasonable commute are Fort Myer, 2 Coast Guard stations, Bolling Air Force Base, an Army Reserve Center and Andrews Air Force Base.

Due to its proximity to Kingstowne and Springfield, residents enjoy the diverse shopping opportunities of both areas. The Kingstowne Town Center includes 2 grocery stores, a 16-screen Regal Cinema, shops and a nice mix of restaurants. Dining choices consist of Chipotle, Firehouse Subs, Panera Bread, Aditi, Bonefish Grill, Uno’s Chicago Bar & Grill, King Street Blues and more. Springfield Mall is only a few minutes away and currently includes retailers such as JC Penney, Macy’s and Target; it is scheduled to be remodeled as part of the new Springfield Town Center. The mall will include additional retailers, a state of the art movie theater and top notch restaurants; residential, office and hotel spaces will surround it. Other Springfield merchants include Mike’s American Restaurant, Ace Fischer’s Hardware, Home Depot, Borders, Ulta, DSW Shoe Warehouse, Thai Café and Old Navy.
