Tartan Village / D’Evereux West

Tartan Village/D’Evereux West is a lovely tree-lined neighborhood of 436 townhomes situated just off of Telegraph Road in the Kingstowne section of Alexandria. These homes were built between 1982 and 1986 and have square footage of 1,350 to 2,253. Two, three or four bedroom units can be found here, as can two and three level floor plans. Many homes back to trees/parkland and others are all brick. There are designated parking spaces for each home. Available models include the Pepperwood, Carlton, Rockledge, Carlisle, Occoquan, Fairfield, Seneca, Saratoga, Gunston and Monticello. All residents can take advantage of common grounds, playgrounds and walking paths around the community. Students attend Hayfield Elementary and Hayfield Secondary Schools.

This community is in a great location near all Kingstowne area shopping and entertainment resources. The Kingstowne Town Center features 2 grocery stores, a dry cleaner, a 16-screen Regal Cinema and various shops and restaurants such as World Market, Home Goods, Uno’s Chicago Bar & Grill, Pasara, Moby Dick House of Kabob and Noodles & Company. If you are looking to stay fit, Lee District RECenter is the place for you. There is a 50-meter swimming pool, exercise room with Cybex equipment, squash/racquetball courts, dance, aerobics and spin studios and a gymnasium with basketball courts and an indoor track. A 193-acre park that boasts athletic fields, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, lighted tennis courts and miles of walking/biking trails surrounds the RECenter. For a change of pace or to simply enjoy nature, Huntley Meadows Park features wildlife observation towers, wetlands, forests and hiking trails. It is not uncommon to see beavers, many species of birds or frogs.

Since Tartan Village is situated between the U.S. Coast Guard Station and Fort Belvoir, it is a convenient place to live for personnel stationed at both locations. This community is nicely located near all major roadways for easy transport throughout the area. Interstates 495/95/395, the Fairfax County Parkway, Route 1 and the GW Parkway are all nearby. Whether you are going shopping out in Tyson’s Corner, commuting to your downtown office or catching a plane at Reagan National Airport, you are well on your way from here. Several Metro, VRE and Amtrak stations are close by, as are local Metro and Fairfax Connector bus routes. Those working at the Pentagon, Navy Yard, Fort Myer, U.S. Patent and Trademark Offices, companies at the Metro Park complex off of Beulah Street and the Hoffman Buildings will have no trouble getting into work.
