South Kings Forest

South Kings Forest is an enclave of 45 single family homes nestled amongst mature trees in Alexandria. Located off of South Kings Highway, these homes were constructed in 1979 on Hard Rock Court and Lantern Place with lot sizes between .19 and .38 acres. Students attend Groveton Elementary, Carl Sandburg Middle and West Potomac High Schools. This neighborhood is in a great location near numerous shopping centers, recreational activities and Metro stations. The Shops at Telegraph is situated right at the intersection of South Kings Highway and Telegraph Road; it includes Grounded Coffee Shop, My Little Gym and Glam Day Spa. Hayfield Center is a little bit further down Telegraph Road and features several restaurants and service providers such as Stone Hot Pizza, House of Dynasty, Hayfield Dental and hair/nail salons. The Kingstowne Town Center has a great mix of shops, restaurants, grocery stores and a 16-screen movie theater. Current merchants include Starbucks, Giant, Safeway, Moby Dick House of Kabob, Bonefish Grill, Panera Bread and World Market.

Living in South Kings Forest

This community is well located near Greendale Golf Course and Franconia District Park & RECenter. Several active pursuits can be found at Lee District. There are multiple sports courts and athletic fields, a 50-meter swimming pool, exercise room with Cybex equipment, dance/aerobics/spin studios, walking trails, playgrounds and even a carousel. The top tier restaurants, upscale boutiques, art galleries and historic attractions of Old Town Alexandria are really close by. Nearby Shirlington has a movie theater, specialty shops and a myriad of tasty restaurants.

Not only is South Kings Forest convenient to several Metro stations (yellow and blue line trains), it is close to all major commuting routes, whether you are venturing downtown or out to the Dulles corridor. Interstates 495/395/95, the Fairfax County Parkway, Route 1 and the GW Parkway are all easily reached from here. Metro and Fairfax Connector bus routes, Amtrak and VRE services are handy for residents to use. When you are looking to take that trip of a lifetime or just get out of town for the weekend, Reagan National Airport is place to go—it is only a short distance away! There are various military establishments close to the this neighborhood; they include Fort Belvoir, the Pentagon, Fort Myer, an Army Reserve Center, Bolling Air Force Base and the Navy Yard. The Hoffman Buildings, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and other federal government agencies employ many Alexandria residents.
