Shady Hill is a small, quiet neighborhood tucked away from through traffic, but just minutes from all the action. Located near the intersection of Franconia Road and South Van Dorn Street, this adorable community is comprised of about 18 single family homes situated on 0.25 to 0.64 acre lots. The Hoffman Buildings and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office are conveniently located in Alexandria. Several restaurants and a 22-screen movie theater can be found at the Hoffman Town Center. Kingstowne Town Center is also just down the street, which includes 2 grocery stores, shops, restaurants and a 16-screen movie theater. Regional shopping destinations include Tyson’s Corner Center, Tyson’s Galleria and Fair Oaks Mall; all offer a mixture of department stores, smaller boutiques, specialty stores and restaurants. Local military establishments include Fort Belvoir, a U.S. Coast Guard Station, the Pentagon and Bolling and Andrews Air Force Bases.
