Kenwood Townes is well situated near the intersection of Rolling and Old Keene Mill Roads in West Springfield. Richmond American built these 45 one and two car garage townhomes between 1997 and 1999 along Millwood Drive and Regal Oaks Drive. Many of these 3 bedroom units have brick-fronts and bay windows in front. Total square footage ranges from 2,376 to 2,698 on all 3 levels. A variety of floor plans are available, including the Westcott, Preston and Newcastle models. This community is in a great location within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. A wealth of parks and recreational opportunities can be found around this area of Springfield. There is a Washington Sports Club in the Old Keene Mill Center and 2 Fairfax County RECenters, South Run and Audrey Moore, are just a short car ride away. Both feature swimming pools, exercise facilities, sports courts, group exercise classes and dance/aerobics studios. Audrey Moore also includes a skate park, a pottery lab, a photography lab and arts and crafts rooms; there is a synthetic turf field house at South Run. Hidden Pond Nature Center is located within walking distance of Kenwood Townes; it features walking trails, acres of undisturbed woodlands, exhibits and live displays. The 700-acre Pohick Stream Valley Park can be reached via a 2,000 foot trail that connects to Hidden Pond; there are ponds, wooded areas and wetlands galore. Many residents enjoy the super-close Springfield Country Club. It offers an 18-hole championship golf course, dining/meeting rooms, an outdoor swimming pool and outdoor tennis courts.

This subdivision is a commuter’s dream! Several great options, including slug lines, buses and Metro are close by. It is only about 10 minutes to the Springfield Transportation Center that houses Metro Rail (blue line trains), VRE and Amtrak trains as well as Greyhound buses. Local Fairfax Connector and Metro bus lines provide easy options for travelling around the region; there are even stops right on Old Keene Mill Road. All of the area’s major transportation routes, including the Fairfax County Parkway, the Beltway and Interstates 395/95 are close by. Children attend Fairfax County Public Schools-Rolling Valley Elementary, Washington Irving Middle and West Springfield High Schools.
