The Gambrill Road lot is served by Fairfax Connector and Metro buses, with transport to the Franconia-Springfield Metro Station. This blue line station also provides access to VRE and Greyhound. Alternately, commuters can meet up for carpooling at the Park & Ride lot. Residents have an easy entry to HOV lanes from the Fairfax County Parkway; the Beltway and Interstates 95, 395 and 66 are all convenient. This community is very convenient to Fort Belvoir, the Pentagon, recreational facilities and shopping areas. Other nearby military bases include Fort Myer, Bolling Air Force Base, the Navy Yard, 2 Coast Guard stations and Andrews Air Force Base. Nearby parks such as Pohick Stream Valley and West Springfield Village provide spaces to soak in the fresh air. Hunter Village is very close to both Kingstowne and Springfield shopping areas. The Kingstowne Town Center features a 16-screen movie theater, 2 grocery stores, a dry cleaner and many shops and restaurants.
