Calling all design aficionados!

DC Design HouseThis post is for all you design buffs! There are a couple of great events you should check out if you are interested in interior design, home decor or architecture.

First up is the DC Design House, which is in its 10th year. This year, the DC Design House showcases the work of 23 different designers from DC, Virginia and Maryland. Both the inside and outside feature beautifully designed spaces. In addition, there are four boutiques, a “Decade of Design” celebration and a daily on-site cafe by Relish Catering.

This 27,256 square foot home is actually listed for sale by Long & Foster at $10.28 million, and includes nine bedrooms, nine full and four half baths, an elevator, multiple kitchens, a cinema and more. Sited on a two acre lot, this property also features a pool and pool house with an apartment and covered terrace.

A second option is join the “Historic Bloomingdale: Victorian Secrets & Modern Truths House Tour”. This event features self-guided tours of eight distinguished Bloomingdale, DC residences, a lecture about the neighborhood’s architecture and design workshops on topics such as landscaping in small spaces, choosing the best lighting for your space and container gardening.

WHEN: Saturday, October 28th, from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm; Tuesday – Friday: 10:00- 3:00; Saturday – Sunday: 12-5

TICKETS: $30 in advance or $35 on the day of the tour, they benefit the Bloomingdale Civic Association Scholarship Fund
