Southampton Station is a small-knit community of luxurious single-family homes in Springfield. The majority of the 44 homes were built by Van Metre in 2001 and 2002, with a couple of Botero Homes added in 2008. This community features very spacious homes with dramatic open floors on lots ranging in size from .19 to 1 acre. A sampling of available models includes the Sinclair, Thoreau, Fitzgerald, Eliot, French Georgian, Evesham Federal and Ashmont Southern. Total square footage starts at 4,922 and goes up to 7,138. Many homes back to trees, providing for much desired privacy. Residents can enjoy the use of tennis courts, baseball fields and soccer fields at nearby Hooes Road Park. Fairfax County’s South Run RECenter and Burke Lake Park are just a few minutes away. South Run has a recently expanded 2-story fitness center with a state of the art entertainment center with individual screens or video simulators on many pieces of cardio equipment, new strength training equipment, a Pilates studio, spin bikes and a sizeable stretching area. Other highlights include a 25 x 25 meter swimming pool, several athletic fields, walking paths, an off-leash dog park and a field house with synthetic turf. Options at Burke Lake consist of miniature and regular golf courses, fishing and boating facilities, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits and picnic areas with grills. Children attend Forestdale Elementary, Key Middle and Lee High Schools.

This community is well located near the Pentagon, the soon to be completed new campus of the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency and Fort Belvoir, making it easy for personnel stationed there. Other military bases such as 2 Coast Guard stations, Fort Myer, Bolling Air Force Base and the Navy Yard are convenient as well. Southampton Station is centrally located near the improved Springfield Mixing Bowl, which provides access to the Beltway and Interstate 395/95. The nearest Metro station is Franconia-Springfield; VRE, Greyhound and Amtrak facilities are available there too. This neighborhood’s location makes commuting to downtown D.C, the Dulles Corridor and Tyson’s Corner a breeze. Because of its location right off the Fairfax County Parkway, Southampton Station residents can also easily access Interstate 66, Route 29 and Route 123 for venturing out to Fairfax, Chantilly and points west.

Southampton Station is convenient to a variety of shops, restaurants and entertainment choices in the Kingstowne and Springfield areas. The Kingstowne Town Center features a 16-screen Regal Cinema, 2 grocery stores, a dry cleaner, World Market, Bath & Body Works and a plethora of dining choices. Restaurants include Pasara, Macaroni Grill, Panera Bread, Noodles & Company, Bonefish Grill and Firehouse Subs.
