Located in Arlington, Virginia on 280 acres of land, the Pentagon is the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense. Opened in 1943, the Pentagon is the world’s largest office building with over 6,500,000 square feet of floor area and nearly 17.5 miles of corridors on its 7 levels. It houses approximately 23,000 military and civilian employees as well as 3,000 support personnel.

The building itself covers 28.5 acres and provides services to personnel working there including the Pentagon Athletic Center and fast food establishments such as McDonald’s, Dunkin Donuts and more. The Pentagon is also directly accessible via a dedicated Metro stop that makes it an easy commute for residents in the Alexandria, Springfield and Lorton areas.
