Cameron Station is an upscale community of single family homes, townhomes and condominiums in the city of Alexandria. Amenities don’t get any better than here! The Cameron Club is the centerpiece of this community. This social gathering spot includes a great room with a kitchen for parties or meetings, outdoor children’s and adult swimming pools, a half court indoor basketball court, a state of the art fitness center and administrative offices. Group exercise classes are available for a fee; recent classes have included yoga, pilates and sports conditioning. Pick-up basketball games are an option as well. There is a free shuttle daily to the Van Dorn Metro station; it has several stops throughout the community in the morning and evenings.
Cameron Station is bordered by the 50-acre Ben Brenman Park and 12-acre Armistead L. Boothe Park, which feature athletic fields, tennis and basketball courts, 2 dog parks, playgrounds, picnic pavilions with grills and walking/biking paths that connect to the rest of Alexandria. Brenman Park Drive has many retailers such as a restaurant, market, dry cleaners, spa and salon, a dentist and a daycare facility. Samuel Tucker Elemantary School is situated at the west end of the community. Residents love to get together and hang out; there are many ways to get involved. Past programs have consisted of happy hours, ice cream socials, Halloween and Holiday parties. There are several active book clubs in the neighborhood. The Compass is a great way to keep connected; this newsletter is available either in hard copy or e-mail formats.
Cameron Station is very convenient to the new Wegmans at Carlyle Crossing, Hoffman office buildings and the Hoffman Town Center. Situated off Eisenhower Avenue, the Town Center currently houses a 22-screen AMC Movie Theater, Starbucks, Ted’s Montana Grill, Cold Stone Creamery and more. Cameron Run Regional Park is nearby and features a Great Waves Water Park, batting cages and miniature golf, along with a pavilion that can be rented out.
