According to their website, the new Town Center "will be an urban, pedestrian-friendly environment where people can live, work and play". It will include new retailers, a state of the art movie theater, nice restaurants and office, residential and hotel spaces.  The Kingstowne Town Center is a great resource for area residents; it features 2 grocery stores, a dry cleaner and several shops and restaurants including World Market, Radio Shack, Bonefish Grill, Pasara, Firehouse Subs, Uno's Chicago Bar and Grill, King Street Blues and Home Goods. Nearby Old Town Alexandria offers something for everyone. Whether you enjoy shopping along the waterfront, checking out art galleries, touring historic sites, eating fabulous meals or even picnicking along the Potomac, Old Town is the place for you.

This area of Alexandria is very close to many of the area's leading employers. The Metro Park complex is located off of Beulah Street and features the INOVA Healthplex (24 hour emergency services department and many other medical offices) and several government contractor and technology companies.
